Reasons against Immigration

Reasons against Immigration
Reasons against Immigration

Immigration is a subject that is considered by many people around the world.  This could be for reasons such as economic conditions, over population, better employment conditions etc.  while the subject in itself is considered looking at all the positive aspects of the same there could be many reasons that a person may also consider as to why one should migrate to a country other than his own.  There could also be many arguments against immigration.  Reasons could be offered to substantiate the same.  However the fact remains that immigration brings about a whole lot of reasons that are put forward by people against the same.

One of the reasons put forward against immigration is that a foreigner takes away a job that an American is entitled to.  Yes, that may be true. What could also be true is that the foreigner could be better qualified and may provide a better quality of service than the American who may not hold the same qualifications or have the work experience that is required by the employer.

One other reason that is provided against immigration is that foreigners will invade the country.  Well, foreigners come because there are jobs available and there is a requirement for the skills that they possess.  Once the market is saturated and there are no jobs available they will not be coming in.  In any case who in the world would want to leave the comfort of their culture and country of origin to enter into a place that is as alien to them as they are to that country?

Another argument provided is that foreigners, if they do not find jobs will be drain on the welfare benefits of the state.  While this argument may hold true to a certain extent it cannot be held as a tool against immigration.  Foreigners may not have access to welfare benefits that are the same as nationals of the country.

The arguments provided could be many and different from each person’s point of view.  The government on its own may also have a point of view for and against immigration.  Rational thinking however, plays an important role and will decide whether the people against immigration should be allowed to voice their assumptions.
